Join Sigrid for an immersive, hands-on 2 day course dedicated to developing strong and confident waving techniques in the sauna.

Sigrid van Rijswijk is a leading figure in the international aufguss scene and the current World Aufguss Champion. With a background in theatre and over 8 years of stage experience, she blends performance and creativity to transform sauna sessions into immersive, artistic rituals.

With 6+ years as a sauna master, she has created more than 35 original aufguss shows, pushing the boundaries of heat, movement and storytelling. Alongside this, she has spent 4+ years training and coaching new talent, helping others develop both technical skill and creative expression.

In this course we will dive deeper in aufguss rituals. This course is designed as a perfect follow up from the basic-course. We’ll teach advanced waving moves, from the open towel, to two towels and eventually throwing the towel.

You’ll learn about the use of the Smoke ritual as an aroma method. This course works towards creating your own show aufguss ritual, which we will discuss together and give feedback and tips. We do this with a mix of waving lessons, presentations and creative assignments.

• In-sauna facilitation practice with live feedback
• Theory & use of the Smoke Ritual Aroma method
• Theory on how to use storytelling to set the stage

You’ll join a small group of fellow guides, with time for learning, sharing, solo reflection, and swinging in a hammock between sessions.

You will receive a Certificate for this training from Sauna Master UK.

It doesn’t have to be Sigrid’s basic course, any introductory towel waving course will be sufficient in order to do this advanced course.
